STOCK FOOTAGE

Post by U.S.Amateurfilmaker »

Anyone know where to get FREE stock footage thats high quality (not the 320x240 pixelated garbage)? I've searched for months, but of course when you type in "free stock foorage" in a search engine you get that annoying little word "royalty" before free in the results, with a $300 per CD charge. Anyway, if anyone knows a site, please post the link!

Ya. I am also looking for ground flames and explosion stock footage. And Royalty Free Stock Footage site is too goddamn much. Now really, who would pay $149 for 1 minute of footage? If anybody has ANY free stock footages, please post. Thanks.

I'm also looking for stock explosions and the like. There's one pretty cool site that Matt once posted - http://www.detonationfilms.com/free_stuff.htm - which has downloadable explosions. Nothing too special but pretty cool never the less :D

Mushiman seems to have downloaded some great ones, but he's disappeared over the last few weeks :(

At some point I will consider putting together a register where everyone can enter descriptions of footage they have that may be useful to others. For example I've got some airshow footage that would probably help someone out. Just an idea ...

Airshow sounds cool.

I'm sure I have been on that website before - probably that time when Matt posted it.

After starting this thread, I did a little more searching and found something that everyone may like. If you subscribe to http://www.videometry.com, you can download a free high quality clip every week. It may take a while to compile a stock footage library, but hey, who has all the money to spend on the WAY overpriced footage cds.
