Spaceship Movie

Spaceship Movie

I created this little space scene on 3ds max yesterday. It took me about 3 hours to make the models and another 2 hours to animate it. I then used Premiere to add the sounds and compress it. It's only 5 seconds long, but I like it. So I thought I would share it with you guys.

Enjoy!

No, I didn't use any tutorials. They like to use splines for objects to follow, but I'm not too fond of their methods. My ship is original! This is a pretty simple scene to make, the makers of your avatar did the exact same thing! My sounds are original too, though it sounds a little strange. :D

It took me 2 hours to render it!

Most certainly. You could make anything you can possibly imagine in 3ds max. You just need the initiative and creativity to do it. Not to mention countless hours of work.

Some motion pictures that used 3ds max are: Black Hawk Down, Undisputed, Reign of Fire, and Uncharted Territory.

Hmm... you've inspired me, maybe I will make some kind of mass army video next. :)

Cool! But one thing I have always wondered is how you could take something like that and make it achieve photo-realism, because not many people that I know of outside of the pro industry have done so. Could it be the texturing and lighting that is the factor?

In time, 3d renders will look continually better. Right now I think some things that Hollywood create look pretty damn good! In the near future, there will be many more digital actors, and less need for real actors.

i think there are somethings that have achieved photorealism, for example some of the backgrounds in FF the movie

PD: this is a fairly simple test, if what you claim is true, can you get all answers right?

if they can do that with persons, probably the hardes thing to make photorealistic in, they can certainly make backgrounds look 99.9999% real
