Plug Thing - ID needed, please

Post by Jperson »

I'm on a posting spree, yay! OK another question, pretty basic really, but anyway...

What is the name of the plug that you use on the socket on any normal tape recorder (as in audio tape, from the good old days)? Is there a specific one or can it vary?

The reason...

I currently have a good mic thing that plugs into this type of socket, I would like to know what the plug type is called (if it has a name).

If a picture is needed, please tell me. Thanks all.

Can you describe it a little bit better? Size? Color? Etc. I can help, but there are numerous cable-plugs I am thinking of right now. If you give me a size/shape/color, I could tell you...

Thanks guys, but I actually just got someone to tell me, it's a 4mm jack. And if it's not that then it must be 3.5mm. Thanks everyone, :D
