60 Second fictional film competition

Post by Moriarty »

Hey guys,

I haven't seen anything new in the way of films/trailers and the like on here recently, so thought I'd throw in this little cookie-dough.

Do you want to win big? Canon is offering the highest value prize of any short moviemaking contest in the UK and it could be all yours. All you have to do is come up with a movie trailer for a film entitled Anticipation. How you interpret this title is entirely up to you, but the film must be no longer than 60 seconds and employ the sort of big screen techniques that make cinemagoers queue around the corner. For full details on the competition pick up the latest copy of Digital Video magazine for the latest hints and tips to shooting and editing your blockbuster trailer!

I've completed two trailers - the first can be seen here:

It's a kind of goofy thing that we did at the weekend - my opinion was that most people would be going for the thriller/chiller 60 second trailer, so instead we thought we'd go out there and try something a little more random. Guy needs a s***, but he can't make it to the toiler. Oooooh, the anticipation....*cough* see what I did there?*

I'm not really expecting my second trailer to go anywhere, since it's a trailer from my last project, "The Vault." I've also added some music from 'ALIEN' so I doubt it will be eligible for it anyhoo. You can check out the second one here:

Lemme know what you think, and if you've got time - enter the competition yourself!

I wanna get me involved in this competition!

As for your trailers, they were good but I get the feeling they don't feature anything everyone elses trailers wont. Gunfights etc...

Was there stock footage of an explosion in The Vault?
