What If...?

Post by Zacatac927 »

You tried to make a film, where every frame of the movie could be printed out and framed, where it is just so well thought out, every shot, that its like a painting... could this be done, and do well?

just to get you thinking... i have more, just to lazy to type it...

ideas should be written...

These are already made. They're called slide shows :) hehe jk.

But really, if you think about it. For each frame to be of the quality and have the content to want to frame it, having these frames one after another wouldn't have much flow to it. I think it would be hard to follow, even if it were thought out well. Forgive me if I'm misinterpreting your question, but that's just my opinion.

EDIT: It's an interesting concept though.

Road to Perdition and the Cowboy Bebop movie come to mind.

Yeah it's possible, you just gotta make sure that you (or your DP if you don't do your own camera work) has got the talent to make it happen.

yeah... but i mean like its a real life film,.. like real people... but every frame could be used as photograph... wher you'd see a story in it
some shots like these but moving, witha story:

Right. A moving picture is exactly what a movie is.

Once again, Road to Perdition.

To me 2001 a Space Odyssey has always been the visualy perfect movie. It's been a while since I saw it, but as far as I can remember there isn't a single frame in that movie that isn't worth putting in a museum.

Exactly a film is a series of individual frames

So you're basically just asking if there's any movies with good cinemtography. Yes, there's many. Look at any Kubrick or Hitchcock film.

You're not making any damned sense. You're wondering if there's any movies out there that's nothing but a bunch of shots of landscapes and s***?

You mean a very stylized movie? With special angles, lenses, a lot of color correction, etc. Like Sin City.

Anyway, a movie where you could take out any frame and hang it in a museum would undoubtedly be boring. Thats what pictures are for.

I actually thought about this before. There are some movies where it seems like every frame are high quality. I never thought of it in terms of hanging one in an art gallery (museum?), but just in how well each individual frame was layed out, etc. You can bash me for it, but I thought the first Matrix was really good about that.

SIDETRACKER! No, sorry, lol, but yeah I would say cartoon/animations. E.g. The Simpsons. When they make merchindise, like their calenders,, for example, they just grab frames out of their collection from episodes, give it a shine, then stick it onto the calender (acceot in one or two places). :-)
