loss of quality in AE
Ok you've prolly seen somone ask this a few times...
After editing some clips in AE, I really have no idea how to export it without losing any quality... is it even possible?
It sucks that every clip in my movie that has been edited in AE looks like a** garbage...
any tips or anything? PLeease?

RE: loss of quality in AE
to be honest, i need to know this as well. I think when you export your project from A.E, go into the settings, put the quality to high or maximum and put the compression settings to none. I am not sure but i think that might be the solution

Can you post the two images, post one prior to edit and after of the same frame. We have done extensive work in AE and haven't had this issue. Maybe I can look at the images and see something obvious that is wrong or set wrong.
Thanks
Thanks

make sure the quality is set to high on the video and then render it out at as a lossless windows video, render that in premiere and your fine

if you import the movie into AE the project window shows you the size compression and frame rate etc.
are you sure your exporting the same settings? or even creating the composition the same size? otherwise if its none of those things you have a problem.

you have to choose composite>make movie which will make a rendered video of what you have in the current composition your working on... when the window comes up with encoding options you have complete control over everything you can even change the frame rate if you want to... just take the time to learn all the techy side of video theres a bunch of information i think people who are serious about the work need to know

dude how long have you had AE read up on some basic tutorials and stuff before asking specifics you need to learn how it works before you know how to get what you want out of it

you guys are talkin about premiere. We are talkin about A.E. You don't work with compositions on Premiere, thats After effects. You should know that, well now you do
When you export something from premiere, go into settings and the quality and colour controls are in therehow do you make the quality high?

[quote="Magic-Man"]you guys are talkin about premiere. We are talkin about A.E. You donmagic man is right, you have to define what platform you're using if you want help. For premiere, when you export your film, you don't have to go lossless to maintain quality, i usually stick to the standard DV codec they supply, with almost no loss in quality. As for after effects, you can go to export movie or make movie in either the file or composition tabs, it doesnt really matter, as long as you stick with the dv codec they have (there's DV stream, which is quicktime format, or you can export as an .AVI and select DV after in the video compression menu).
ya ok i got kinda scared when i couldnt find the composition menu. SO now to help us with our problem, how do you fix the problem in PREMIERE, i dont use any codecs, (full frames uncompressed (the file is enourmous but thats ok ) but for soem reason (even though the color is set to millions+) it still loses colour info!

Well i just got the trial for After Effects 6.5 Proffesional 2 days ago, and i can already tell that AE is much more powerful but at the same time more complex. Premiere doesnt have the special effects capabilities of After Effects but its role isnt really cutting edge special effects. They both have their uses
