Check out the last thing I shot. It's a rough cut, and I want to know if the editing distracts from the carnage. It's just random zombie violence, but since I didn't do proper coverage, I fear the editing is heavy-handed.

Of course, since tripod is hosting the file, the bandwidth is limited, and you may have to try again later.

It was done very simply. I built a fake torso bit that went over her real torso. (It was one of those clear plastic bathing suit hangers, shaped like a female torso that I painted etc.) If I'd shot from a different angle you would see it sitting on top of her. The fake part had a big bloody hole in it filled simply with water balloons, and fake blood.
Check out pics of the torso prop on the webpage in my signature.

yeah i could tell they were water balloons but only because of the way one of the actors was eating it. he stretched it too much when he bit into it, but if i hadn't seen that i wouldn't have any idea.

Can't wait for the final version, another movie where I want to laugh but feel really wrong about it because at the same time I'm discusted by the effect. Keep it up, I love those moments. :D

Do you want C&C or do you just want good jobs?? Because i wish to give you both!

I thought that you did very well with the whole thing, the camera cuts were fantastic! There were a few things i didnt like though...I didnt like the zombie costumes, they seemed to "new" i guess, especially the one in the flag shirt. The only other thing i had a problem with is that the girl was screaming and lifting her head up a lot. If you think about it she wouldn't be doing either of those things in real life, cause it takes abdomin muscles to do that, and from the looks of it she had those torn to peices. Dont get me wrong though, i loved it, and its fine the way that it is, and id love to see the rest of the movie! Good Job!

Remember, people don't watch movies for logistics! Practically every film out there makes hardly any sense! For example: Armageddon absolutely sucks at Everything that would make sense in the real world, but it is a great entertainer. Therefore, they have done their job!

So put that mathematical side in your head away and just enjoy it! :D

Those are interesting points Austin, and I hadn't considered how her lack of abdominal muscles would affect her movements. I was just happy she could scream while surrounded by goofy looking zombies and props. Your observation makes me think of a moment in Day of the Dead, where a guy has his head pulled off by zombies, and he keeps screaming, afterwards, obviously impossible, but very effective (or maybe just funny.)
I agree with you completely about the clothes being too new. Unfortunately that is the case for everything I've shot, because I don't pay my actors, and they wear they're own clothes. The only exception is the flag shirt, which I bought at a thrift store, and insisted went in the scene. I wanted it there because it's so graphic, and bold, and also funny. And it leaves the scene open to political interpretation. ;) I absolutely should have tattered it up though.
Thanks again everyone!

Very impressive. I think its clear that everyone liked that clip :)

Personnally I liked the flag shirt. Somehow it added some normality to what was a sureal scene. It sticks in your mind more than any of the other clothes ... which I've already forgotten about.

Good work. I want to see the finished film!

obviously a lot of effort put into that!!

in my films I never really make props - i usually have a no budget/no time film, but i have only just started out!

I think a re-dubbed soundtrack with some effective music instead of the wind on the mic would add great atmosphere and improve the clip.

very god tho! well done!
