Melon pop

Post by the_satanic_COokie »

ok, one weekend i was bored so i went to a hardware store and bought a blowgun nozzle for my dad's air compressor, and some clear rubber tubing. Me and my friend bill then rigged up our own compressed air squibbs. This is the only real movie we have of it right now, tell me what you think. Oh and yes I know it's a little lagged, its just bad timing, we'll work it out.

Yeah more gore is always good, I think what happend was the lighting in the shot kinda sucked s***, so the red of the blood didn't quite show like i wanted it too, I have a few other shots that the blood looks great in, that one just had the camera angle and I thought people would like it more....but yes I agree, BLood is your freeeeind.

Well especaly with a head shoot because those are by nature very bloody, even if most gun shoots are not. Because heads tend to pop, and smash appart.

hey, that was pretty good! But yeah you're right the lighting made the blood look a bit odd. But overall, it was a cool effect.

i think it looks perfect... cept for the timing... just use some masking to time it right but i think the amount of gore is perfect... less is more it looked really freaking good

The blood was actually pretty good, the only problem I saw was he got hit about half a second after you fired the gun. Of couse, I'm on the shcools slow-as* computers, but I think the blood should go as soon as the gun is fired. Not knowing alot about squibs, I couldn't tell you if that was really good timing for what you used or not

Timing could have been a bit tighter but i still liked it.

I just finished mixing up some gore for my shoot on the weekend. A bucket full of fake blood, cuts up lambs brains, lambs fry, kidneys, scrambled eggs etc. Should be a very gory single shot :D

Good clip! It reminds me of the Kennedy assanation, where part of his head blew out from the bullet! Horrible stuff!

as demented as it sounds, the kennedy assassination was one of my bigger inspirations, as far as what it would look like...I wish i had a good host, I would show you my other few head shot movies, the other ones have alot more gore and brain matter, plus the lighting isn't as harsh. OH and to you people that keep saying "the timing is a bit off", I know. I even said that in my first post... we'll work it out trust me.

Excelaent I can't wait to see that gory shoot Grant, or this flick. We never get to see the fullness of the kennedy assasenation on TV, and it p*** me off I want to see it, as sick as that sounds.

If you ever do see it, brace yourself, it really is chilling! The worst thing is knowing it's absolutely real, not some special effect on an actor!

Well, what's even worse is that when they show the shot usually on a documentary, they show it in slow motion. You usually see it on those "Did it really come from grassy Knowle West" shows!

(Bristol joke there!)

The effect looks good. I bit more volume to the blood and it will be great. The timing is just something you'll have to practice but I'm sure you'll get it right.

Stuck a copy of the Zapruder film in the download section under the Misc category.

Apparently when the FBI first showed the film to journalists the 3 frames that show Kennedy getting shot from the front were reversed. This made it appear he was shot from behind which is what would have happened if the shot had come from the Book Depository. They claimed this was due to a "technical error". Yeah right. Of course it was !

Depends on how much force he was hit with, that looked to be close range, and the fake gore went that far I would exspect the real stuff to do about the same.
