High speed/slow-mo digital camera

Post by ShaolinWood »

Hi people,

Does any one know of a digital camera that can record at anything higher than 50fps (progressive)?

I've seen some surveilance cameras and other component cams that does that, but not a film maker camera...

Thanks in advance

bummer...
but surely there should be a camera out shooting on DV that can do that?

Or is going 16mm or something the best way?

They slow it down to 30% so they probably film at 90fps, then move it back down to 30fps. But you will have to ask them how to do it. I have always wanted to slow my footage down to like 10% or less, to make it really dramatic, but when i go under 50% the footage gets really jumpy. And i wouldnt want to use a program, because half the time they either take forever and there hard, or because it often looks bad.

mmm yea they might do...
But I doubt they'll tell us how they're filming it, since it's what they do...

This is what I've found so far:

But not sure what these bad boys cost..

No, detonationfilms uses an AE plug in called twixtor, which slows down time smoothly and doesn't blend frames.

the Sanyo exactii HD1 can record at 60fps.

If you want super slowmo, you would need a proper hispeed camera, such as teh olympus iSpeed system. I have used these before and they are stunning.

You would however be looking at atleast £20,000 for a proper highspeed camera.
