Cheap / Budget Digital Camcorder

Post by rankz »

I'm after a cheap digital camcorder around £200 give or take a bit. I really don't know much about digital cameras as I'm using an old anologue camera at the minute and its bad quality, takes ages to set up to capture and generally a poor camera.
I'm looking for a camera that is easy to use, and record with good video and sound quality and also it need to be good at filming stuff at speed. I also would like to know what is the best format to record onto, as Mini DVs sounds like the best option, but my mate recommended Flash Mermory sticks.
If it helps, I film pretty much only skateboarding here are a few examples or what I film: http://www.ramprage.com/forums/media/sh ... puser=2131
Sorry for all the silly questions, and thanks for helping out.

personnally I have a canon Elura 100, which you can find at about 400$, which is the equivalent of 217GBP . For the price, the quality is great, but as with most camcorders, be ready to spend more on a good microphone. if you want a good review, click here: http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Ca ... Panasonic for sure. I wouldn't go with Canon, maybe a Sony. I have been really happy with my Panasonic NV-GS120. They are pretty cheap now..

I have a Sony DCRTRV250 which is one of the cheapest video cameras out there. The camera retails for around $300, but I bought mine on eBay for $125. For the price it's a great camera. The quality is OK and capturing is easy. If most of what you're filming is skateboarding, it's a good camera. If you are interested in the camera and look on eBay, I highly suggest you look at the condition. "New," "unopened" and "new in box" are all completely different. Good luck!
If it can be written, or thought, it can be filmed.
