Digital camcorders do not record onto memory sticks. Some use memory sticks with the built in camera. The camcorder records the image onto to the tape digitally. They usually have a larger CCD, so there is better color. Also, the image is much clearer. On brands, I usually lean towards Sony or Canon, even though I don't own either right now, but from careful review and other openions, those seem to be the best brands. I use a JVC analog camera right now, but I know someone (Mr.Anderson) who has a JVC digital camercorder and has had trouble with it too.
