Canon Optura 400

I want to get the Canon Optura 400.

1. But how is the 16x9 Widescreen mode for it?
2. Is it even real widescreen?
3. How's the image quality?
4. How about low light performance?

I really want to get a new camcorder. The Sony Hi8 I got is just a bit out dated.
