is it anygood? im looking to get one as im so poor and realy want to make films. is it easy to link up to a pc? whats the quality like compared to hi-8, if you could show me pictures for the quality then that would be great. thanks
RE: VHS-c
I don't care if your poor, save up for a digital 8 ($300). I don't need to explain the crappiness for VHS-C and Hi8.

It's not even worth investing in anything less than MiniDV these days. MiniDV cameras are so cheap now, there is no point in using sub-par equipment because you're "poor." You can even get a MiniDV camera for $300 these days. VHS-C, Hi8, Digital 8, etc. It's all old technology. Don't waste your time.
Browse through these. On the right hand side in the "Sort by:" drop down menu, select "Price: Low to high."

RE: !!!!!!
Digital8 records with the exact same quality as MiniDV, and comparitivly priced Digital8's usualy have more features than MiniDV's. Until you get into HD and 3-CCD cams a Digital8 will perform exactly the same as MiniDV.

RE: !!!!!!
Yeah, just get something digital. That will make everything MUCH easier. ( meaning capturing and exporting to tape )

RE: !!!!!!
You won't find a VHS-c with digital connection to you rPC, would require some type of analog capture card. as far as qualioty, - Standard VHS is lower quality than Hi-8. S-VHS on the other hand was a pro format using VHS size tape ( not the same tape tho! ) and was much better quality. Digitized S-VHS footage is very near DV quality.
