You're speaking relatively. We all have limited budgets. What is an acceptable price range for you?

The Panasonic NV GS 75 is the cheapest and smallest 3CCD camera yet. Goto google and do your job, lazy man :P I have bought it lately and I am very happy with it. It has very beautiful colors and extremly low noise in the image. It has DV in , but no AV in. Sandisk slot for Fotos, but that's peanuts. The Akku lasts a very long time, about 4.5 hours with LCD Screen on.

I could also recommend the NV GS 150. It's almost the same as the GS 75, but its 3CCD System is the next better version, a full fledged 3*410K-Pixel (few years ago not under 4000$)Chip. Costs a few hundred more than the GS75. I habe paid about 440£ for the GS 75.

Of course windog says buy a sony - he's a sony seller. Better don't buy a 500£ Sony IMHO - you'll pay half of it for the name. It can't be that good, cause if it was then sony couldn't sell the better models. If you buy a sony, then buy an expensive one :)

Really? Thought you used to write this somewhere. Well sorry then. Anyway, Sony IS expensive. Not bad, but probably not the right choice when you have to be careful with the budget.

Sony isn't the cheapest by a long shot. But from my experiences, it has been the best!

Except for when they make something kickass, but ruin it by leaving off certain features. For example, their new HD cams (FX1 & Z1U) without 24p (or any progressive mode). They slap on some psuedo progressive modes (CineFrame24) and expect it to live up to the standards.
Erm... yeah...

It doesn't bother me that much, actually. I figure I'll just interpolate it to 24fps for showings, and keep it 30fps for the dvds. There are algorithms that (somehow) seamlessly change frame rates and keep everything crisp. That's basically what they do in theaters, except it is originally 24fps. :) But still, when I compare say an FX1 to an XL1, the Sony's picture is just soo much more desirable! Although the Canon has more features to toy with. One must remember that the FX1 is still a comsumer camera, though. If they gave it too much, then what would they have left for their Pro lines!?!? Nothing! :D
