LOOKING FOR SOUND EFFECT'S NAME!

Post by bloodymess »

Howdy!

I've been looking for a sound effect I saw at many places, but I just don't know what it is! maybe you could help me identify what instrument/objects produces this sound?

The sound i'm looking for is the creaky, screechy effect that is heard at 41 seconds in the song "Mein Teil" from rammstein. it is also used many times in the trailer for Texas Chainsaw Massacre-the beginning.

you can also hear it at 27seconds into this "school of rock" recut: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/2006/07/scho ... recut.html

sooo, does anybody knows what is this sound effect?

If I were you I wouldn;t use it because it's known for TCM, but I would go on a TCM fan site and go to sounds or audio. Im pretty sure it's just a violin going across a string.

good lord, another revival of one of my topics! it's the third time this week!

as you say, it's probably just a violin... now the job will be to find the good violin sound! but i'm not in a hurry, so I have plenty of time to look for it. thanks!

Haha! This place called Spyhop Production based here in Salt Lake City had a kid for them that did this trailer re-cut. Just thought I'd share that. I'm actually going to the place today because I'm using their music recording studio to do music for my upcoming short.

As for the sound effect I think that's just part of the song...don't know what song that is though.
