I’m currently searching for some decent canned punching impact sounds and have not been able turn up anything to my specifications. I could turn to some sound ideas CD’s but I would like to try and see what I can find online first.
Does anyone have in there possession or know a decent game with any such effects with a sampling rate no lower than 44000Hz and in stereo, would appreciate the help.
Worse comes to worse I start punching phone books in the name of art.

Punch the phone books. That should be your first option, not your last.

yes that is literal. Try punching for real various objects. Also experiment with different objects impacting upon each other for sound. Like we used to do in the good old days lol

I made my own sound effects once... i had to have the sound effect of a trampoline being hit by a human head, so i kicked the trampoline while filming, then put the audio in the right time with the hit.

For Indiana Jones, the foley punching sounds were made by slapping leather. Interesting.
