I remember in the old Johnny Quest show (I think it was back in the '60s), when ever a bad guy died or was thrown off a cliff, they would be like ayieeeeeeeee(pronounce the e as if it was an e). Like that?

ok in the film troy when the mermadons or whoever are assaulting the beaches one gets hit with an arrow and falls of the boat whilst making this noise

i wanted it because it shows attention to detail and i thought it would be a good thing to have in my film

i remember playing this computer game called something like "Spiderman's Movie Studio" and you would drag and drop characters onto a background and basically make your own cartoon, well everytime you had a cop come up it would have this sound effect which was basically this lady on the speaker saying something like "blah blah blah north avenue 52...*ssch"
well i always hear that sound effect playing in movies : super troopers, royal tanenbaums (:(), spiderman....lots more...and everytime i hear it it bugs me cause it reminds me of the childish spiderman game i played....

Just record it straight off of your TV.

WOW VOR, I played that all the time when I was like 5. Strange to see somebody else remembers that cartoon maker! I remember that cop (it was a black lady) and I think she was satnding beside her car. You just hold it down and move the char around and it'd make your movie. Im gunna try finding it on ebay.

I also here many movies and such use that sound, they also say like "rated sepper".....??

Go to the bottom of the wikipedia page that Lawriejaffa posted, it says "The Wilhelm Scream in .wav sound format" actually, forget that, here it is:

Wilhelm Scream
Losing consciousness,
in the arms of an angel,
I find only peace.

haha thats exellent, I have a library of sounds I carry with me for all my films. There is a thud i recorded just by throwing my jacket on the floor, I use this whenever I want to make a fall or a trip or anything sound more heavy, works like a treat, Though Stef (the punisher) has found out and now he points it out to me every time its on hes like 'oooh your sound again!' but it works well and thats the main thing.
