Sound Capture

Post by DEDFX »

I was wondering where you could find a CD recording device because If I ever wanted to shoot on 16mm I wouldn't want to use the old camera sound or if I feel like getting some good sound FX from somewhere. Does anyone know where I can get a portable CD recorder? And maybe I'd do something like put the mic at the end of a pole for a boom mic. or something.

I do it at the shooting range with my camera then take the video and just export the audio. It sounds just as good, and it's in stereo.

your allowed to film at shooting ranges, do you have to put the camera facing a wall or something to make sure there is no evidence of american weapons, i.e to stop terrorists or some cr**, just seems like an argument that may have been put forward

For audio recording on my next film I am going with a laptop, a Source (RadioShack) distribution box, and some el Cheapo microphones (~$40 each).
