Is there a simple program to edit a song??

Post by Sebas »

When i'm making a movie i want good music and most of the time the song i picked is too long or i just want the chorus. I would appreciate if someone knows a programm simple program to cut in a song and save it, it would certainly make life alot easier :)

Have you tried Audacity? Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but I use it for just about all of my audio work.

If you are willing to fork out some cash Adobe Audition works charms and will do exactly what you want.

If you have a Mac, Garageband is available on iLife. It works very good, is cheap and is an easy way to make a song fast.

No, please, don't use Windows Movie Maker unless it's absolutely unavoidable.

As for Audacity vs Audition, I've used the ooold version of Audition, back when it was Cool Edit, so I can't give commentary on the current version--but if it's anything like the old version, Audacity is the far better choice. Especially since it's free.

I have downloaded Audacity and the newer of Audition, (in my opinion) has far more features and has an easier layout. Just me though.

Oh, yeah, I should have mentioned that. For any future readers of this thread, you'll need to download the LAME dll from here:
