I need WIZZES!

Post by maj_barnes »

I know I have quite of few SPR and BoB sounds, but I need more: just wizzes. If anyone can help send them to ib_75th@yahoo.com. Thanks!

Have you ever considered trying to record your own bullet nicks and whizzes? Just set up a microphone down a range with a portable recorder, mount your weapon of choice on a tripod, fire above the microphone. Now, unless you're one hell of a marksman, I very highly recommend piling something between you and the mic just in case your shot falls a little low. :)

I've thought of it, but the risks outweigh the advantages.

I also need some bullet ZEEWS. When I played paintball you could here the paintballs fly past ur head...IT WAS AWESOME!!! I've thought about setting up a mic to record that, I might try it...or pay someone else to, i dunno.

Never seen a gun range in Manitoba? I would think Epsilons idea would work, but try other things too, just like the real foley artists do; try other things. A zipper being done up fast for instance, etc...

Off topic, but where did you get your shell casings Epsilon, the ones from the gunshot tutorial Vid you did?

The whole gun range deal.
You'd think in Canada they would have gun ranges. Besides I don't really want stuff that sounds like whistles and pops, I'm trying to get stuff like SPR had, like random winds and buzzes, but that zipper deal sounds like a good idea: now I'll be listening to my zipper for the next half hour.

I found some good ones on www.sounddogs.com check it out. Go to the sounds link on the left of the site, it'll give ya a ton of choices, go to "guns", then "bullet, passbys".

They sound great!

Don't think that would work, the "Whizz" would be drowned out by the report of the gun

We don't have ranges....well, we just take a big fenced lot, toss some beavers and mosses into it, they shoot away with our space age muskets. You guys think ur so advances with ur automatics.....

UFP, lol I've never seen one here. I shot at the one in the West Edmonton mall. Have you been there? Its called the Wild West shooting centre or something to that effect.
