Neckbreak sound effect...

Post by lethelgirth87 »

Ok....problem....I have been searching for a neckbreak sound effect for hours, not to mention the other hour I tried making my own. I need a neckbreak sound effect for my new movie where the guy breaks this other guys neck (pretty much self explanitory) and I tried cracking my knuckles into the mic but everytime I did it it turned out crappy. I have searched like all of the audio sites that offer free sounds and some sites that you have to pay for and I still can't find a neckbreak sound! I tried searching for bone crack, or just crack, or knuckles etc. and I just can't find anything good. Can somebody please help me out! :(

Record your own by taking an empty water bottle (the cheaper one's like Naya work best) and just twisting it as hard as you can. Increase the bass for a "meatier" sound :guns:

And the good thing is you can eat it when finished! Don't forget a little peanut butter on the side!

Fruits tend to have great potential sounds. Even a toilet plunger is the solution to needed effects!

Plungers aren't really good for neck breaks, if that is your query!

You could also try cracking tree branches. May not work with dried out ones though.

p.s. When I am finished editing the scene I will post it up so you guys can see and hear how it looks and tell me what you think. :D

If you have the movie "True Lies", there is a great neck-break sound effect that you can take right off the movie. It's when Arnold breaks the neck of that Doctor guy that gave him the truth telling drug. I've used this sound effect befor and it worked great in my movie.

I have seen that movie before, and I know exactally what your talking about! :D But, I'm trying to keep all of the content original, I made my own by cracking my knuckles and it works fine, but thanks.

I remain with my celery idea.

NaziSentry, by the way, we DID figure out the FTP problems in my forum uploading process. The fixer tutorial is there, if you are still interested.

You've never heard of celery and peanut butter? That is the only way to eat celery! ;)

Try breaking small gizmos around the house, like pencils.
