The question is...how do you guys do sex scenes? 'Ey?

How do you film them, what do the actors do... etc. I really, really want to know. Thanks all

What I do is I make the woman a housewife, and when her husband is away she calls a workman out to fix her refrigerator. He turns up with a handlebar moustache and his large tool. She then comes on to him and they have loads, and loads of steamy sex with multiple positions. And I overlay the whole lot with dodgy 70s music.
Perfect. Make you a bit of money if you do it this way.

unfortunatly the workman scene wouldn't work in the uk, co's he wouldn't turn up. "Sorry I'm late, M25"

Usually wait til I get to 10 years in to a relationship and then ask to spice things up in the bedroom with a video camera

But seriously, as a home movie maker it's awkward enough filming with people who aren't actors anyway so god knows why someone would want to do a sex scene in their home movie

Do what they did in Fight Club: two actors moaning and yelling in ecstasy, ceiling falling apart, and random objects swinging about.

I just don't use them, but thats a logistacal and style choice.

That's what I'm saying: as a home movie maker it is hard to film explicit scenes, so techniques for suggesting it, maybe just a few shots etc. Any ideas?

Why not simply use body doubles - Spice a good 'ol porno flick into the footage! That'll fix your problems!

Get the actors to wear clothes, jump under a dooner like they are gonna go to sleep, then just get them to play around closely together kissing fairly often (thrusting looks fake somehow, and you generally wouldn't want to be TOO explicit). Film strange angles everywhere and just get them to breathe deeply (but not too heavy, you don't want to be the average 'professional' porn). It really depends on the way you want it to be shot, if you want it to be a disgusting f**k in a toilet stall, the two truly in love, like they have just been smoking pot or just casual f**k buddy sex. If you get the right angles things will work out perfect for you.

Rhys, you obviously have no idea about this - why would you, you are a child. Stop trying to guess about something you have not had the pleasure of trying. Come back in a couple of years - or ten.

Jperson, watch a number of films with sex scenes in them and try to figure out how they did them. I will say now that none (if they are not Porn that is) are real and all are staged. So they will give you all you need.

So now your harassing me? Congratulations... Do you have some kind of emotional problems? I'm not trying to be offensive but your getting angry over nothing, but your using the same thing other people used a long time ago... what is going on inside your head?
At least I gave some advice on how to film it, all you did was say watch some movies. And yes, I believed I do know a thing or two about it, and it kinda shows I know a little more then you. Who says I can't have sex anyway? Its legally allowed and It's physically possible! Who said I'm a virgin either? As the guy from the long kiss good night said "don't assume, it puts the a** in u and me".

Yeah i mean ive never seen any films bar 1812 hehe John Groshko's film (with an uber cheesy sexy scene) on matts with sex scenes anyway. Like somebody said, most the guys here are teenagers, adolescents many of them - in fact even worse - adolescent/teenage filmmakers the most unbankable of sex stars in high school haha.

However I was in a sex scene in a film once (thats a disturbing visual picture for you all) and again that was done mostly through suggestion, some nudity - nuzzling etc. Made to suggest it's narrative point - but then you have films that have full nudity and even penetrative full sex like 'Pornographer' that played in Cannes.

So im fully comfortable with the issue of sex in film, and filming scenes like that (depends on the actresses) but why even bother asking jperson when your like 9 years old or something hehe?

I'm offended...I'm not 9...I'm a 40 year old pretending to be a 9 year old. Jeeze!

Ask the 1812 guy. Haha. In Forgotten we threw a kissing scene in at the end, and even edited that out because it was too weird.
