perfect actors

Post by videofxuniverse »

Have you ever noticed in movies or tv shows, none of the actors coughs, sneezes, has the hiccups or accidently knock a chair or trips over anything?

What I mean is, we see all these types of things in bloopers, but in my opinion, its things like these that make us real. Has there ever been a film or something where these natural human inperfections are put in to make the scene realistic and the charactors are not 100% perfect

That completely contradicts exactly what you were just saying. The way he acts is very down to earth and real, just what you were requesting.

Plus i already told ya videofx that acting for film is not about realism - its about the illusion of realism - most folks are convinced by that version of reality hence why they dont demand 'realism' as we experience it off the screen. So theres no law against you having actors poo or pee in a toilet (stuff we do but what keifer never does in 24 hehe) but it wouldnt mean it was 'more' realistic - its totally subjective.

I love how he adds a comma after every other word.

I know and i agree with what your saying but if an actor walked into a chair while talking, then maybe instead of saying "Cut" keep rolling, overlook some of the smaller imperfections

I don't really want to see someone cough/hiccup/etc in real life to be honest!

Plus people tend to never put anything on screen that isn't important.

The only time I've ever really seen a conversation that doesn't relate to the plot is the whole McDonalds talk in Pulp Fiction, but even that was character building, as much as a character who coughs, falls over, etc might be

But the odd cough or whatever would be very odd, unless your someone like Jeff Goldblum of course! I don't think many people would pull it off without it being a distraction

I'd love to see pooing and peeing become a major part of films. You have to do...it's very important, some major moments of your life are shaped on the bog etc.

speaking of pulp fiction, the conversation in resivoir dogs at the diner, had nothing to do with the film but was a realistic type of chat between a group of men

I don't watch it so can't really comment, but aparrently they're starting to add this in to the tv show '24' because people were wondering how they were going a whole day without doing things like this (along with eating, etc)

well they dont concentrate on jack for the full 24 hours, there are usually loads of other things going on at the same time so a quick wee in an alley before he gets his silenced gun out and smoking some fools could be done

He's above such earthly things...
