Another use for a Tripod.

If you have a tripod, you can use it as a steady cam thing. You just fold up all of the legs and extend the pole at the top then losen the joints at the top part then hold the camera not the tripod.

You may want to strap some weight to it to further dampen any shakes

I usually keep the tripod in when doing handheld shots

It doesn't really work like a steadycam but certainly gives you steadier shots
