Interesting gun barrel type effect...

Post by pete1234 »

Hi,

I was talking to a freind who did some stuff for James Bond, specificaly where they shot the famous gun barrel thing at the beggining. He said they had about a foot of tank barrel infront of the camera.

Got me thinking...

I was contracted to do a promo video for a firework company (who I also happen to work for) and I thought a down-tube shot would be cool.

Here is the finished shot:

To setup the camera, i set it back on the triod looking at the sky. I unfortunatly couldnt use the matteboxhttp://www.peter-hoare.co.uk/mattebox2.jpg so the sky isnt quite as blue as I had hoped, but the effect is there.

I used a wide lense which took the overall lense size up afew inches and allowed a peice of 4 inch water pipe to sit ontop very nicely.

The whole aparatus looked like this;

Came out quite well i think...

Let me know what you think,

Pete.

So? It's the waterpipe put over the lens and pointed into sky. Where's the clue?
