Explore your DVD and grab the desired movie files. If you change the extension to AVI, your media player should still recognize it!

Well, movie DVDs of any kind. You can explore the files normally.

Like crossfire said, DVD Shrink is what it's all about. DVD Decrypter isn't bad either. Just hit Google up with either of those.

Hi all, I have an issue, I need to rip some footage from a DVD not the whole thing just bits, I cam e on here to have a look as everyone seems to be able to do it. I read the posts, followed the links, took the advice, printed and read the tutorial and guides and now my head is so filled with AAAHhhhhhhh! I have no idea what I am doing.

I downloaded the DVD shrink but it wants to copy the whole disc and I only want a few minutes in total, is this the way forward? I tried....

Well, you cannot change filenames on a read-only disc. You have to copy them to another location first. :)

What you wanna do is copy the dvd movie onto your hardrive. You can use DVD Decrypter for that. Then use DVD2AVI to select and convert the scene you want to an avi file. Once that is done then you can import the avi file into WMM. Hope this helps :D

Update-

I talked to Espilon, We got a solution.

1) Go to download.com
2) Search for ripping DVD
3) The program is called Avex DVD Ripper Platinum 4 build 05 (you can just search it).
4) Download it and follow the instructions.
