NTSC to PAL

Post by redstamp »

Does anyone know how to convert NTSC VOB's (DVD's) to PAL in software without re-capturing from an analogue source? Or using external converter boxes. Cheers.

Do you want to convert from NTSC VOB to PAL VOB or to PAL VideoCD ? Is the original VOB on a DVD or on your hard drive?

I'm asking because the following site :

dvdrhelp.com DVD Ripping Guides

has an extensive list of tutorials on this subject but which tutorial you use will depend on the answers to the above.

Got shrunk NTSC VOB's on local HDD from NTSC DVD-5. Now want to convert VOB's to PAL and re-burn to DVD-5, so I can play without an NTSC compliant TV. Tried dvdrhelp with no joy - they just provide examples of ways to re-encode - but then probably looking in wrong place Cheers.

This probably won't help, but have you tried using a VCR recently? Most of them have NTSC playback, so if you have a NTSC VHS tape, you can then use the output as your PAL source!

Also, loads of "TV" & "frame grabber" graphics cards are also able to switch and convert media formats without having to digitise.
