Jesus 2 - The 70% finished version (BACK ONLINE!)

Post by Ornsack »

**Ok, because people keep asking for it, and we're too busy to finish it any time soon. I thought I'd cave in and post what we have of it.**

Here are the problems with this edit -

Missing scenes - If you're confused by something (i.e. who 'Stan' is) it's because the scenes are missing. Most have been filmedand edited, but haven't been plonked in to this edit.

Awful sound - We were inexperienced with sound technology at the time. Our plan is to completely re-do all the voices etc. The music is complete however! Have a LOL at the weird buzzing that occurs only when Dan Hill speaks!

Un-complete effects - Most effects are complete. Some are just temporary shots however, and some effects aren't even there at all. I'm sure you'll understand.

Bedroom scenes - The acting's sooooooooo bad that we're gonna re-do all the bedroom scenes and give them a bit more energy. You'll see what I mean.

Anyhoo, enjoy! As you're watching this just remember all the hard work and effort that went in to this (even though we could do so much better now). This was my final university project and helped me get my 2:1 degree.

Filming took place between December 2004 until June 2005, and contained many long weeks/overnights trying to get it done for my university deadline. I remember it being a classic moment in my life and the experience was one of the greatest I've had! It was like being on a proper movie shoot (compared to the usual 'just filming something with your mates' feeling I normally get)

REMEMBER, IT'S UNFINISHED!!

nice flash animation, some of the acting was bad, lighting was bad in some places and yeah, I wish I understood most of it lol. I liked the wizard of oz ending, I didn't like the last part and the end though, you should change that. Also it looks like your hair grew, by the end, probably you didn't gel your hair up like the bedroom scene?

yes acceptance! -don't be gay

It was filmed over six months and I couldn't afford to get my hair cut ;)

The ending's the funniest part. We filmed the whole scene in a random order at varying times. My hair pretty much changes in every single shot :D

The first 6 minutes we're golden and by far the best thing displayed on Matthawkins' forum yet. It was Witty, cheeky and stomach achingly funny.

It's obvious you have a knack for hitting us with a good joke, whether it be slapstick or you're eye for wit. The last of the film didn't seem as good as before, and it doesn't pace well and was frankly disappointing for me, as well as the ending, but like you've said, it's not done, and scenes are missing. So it's understandable. The ADR became way to obvious at some points too, but when there's a shots of Jesus, beating a busker, who cares for the sound quality.

All in all, great work and I look forward to more projects from you soon.

I think you're on to something pretty cool here and I salute you, for having the balls and stepping up to the plate with a shot of Jesus killing people in the name of comedy.

Music was made especially for Jesus 2 :D

And yeah it is a bit, but I like to think there's a film for everyone. And this film isn't really for religious people (although I've yet to meet anyone who didn't like it for what it was). Plus you have to remember that it's not really Jesus doing the bad stuff, it's Satan.

Cheers again everyone! Especially Freed, who I was fearing the most ;) The last half is definately flakey. That's what happens when deadlines loom. In fact it stressed us out so much that it's probably the reason we've been lazy getting back in to it and stuff.

And like I said, we'll replace all the audio and re-do the ADR. Well, when we started to refilm the bedroom stuff recently we borrowed a nice microphone for it :)

3D Studio Max/Particle Illusion/Combustion/After Effects for all the effects. Premiere for the editing. All mentioned here in my 'making of' section -

http://www.guksack.com/jesus2/making.html

And surely it's not the software but the editors behind it? ;)

Cheers again all! Hopefully we'll have something for you soon now this feedback is giving us a bit of motivation.

I've got one, and it says a 10 minute limit max...or else I wouldn't use Google Video for longer projects...

yep that's my account, but I believe I can only get 10 minutes max...

Anyhoo... for everyone else... JESUS 2 IS BACK ONLINE!!

Also, I found this old gem... We dubbed most of the film (as you'd probably notice) and I found this bit of audio which is quite funny:
