City Lights -- New Short Film

Post by Kentertainment »

So last night I was planning on doing ADR with an actor in What's Wrong With You?! but he never showed up. I checked out some equipment (like a DVX and boom mic) so we could do it, but since he never showed I didn't want to put it to waste.

The result: My friend and I on a night drive through downtown Salt Lake City filming the high-rises, city life, and flashing lights (with a strip club and the worlds first KFC included!).

Enjoy!

Woah- the DVX takes great low-light images!
( that was my first thought when I saw this )

There was a clip at 1:47 (a timelapse of cars) that I thought was fantastic.

The music fit nicely.

It does take some decent low-light images, but that was with the f-stop wide open pretty much the whole time. It's obviously better though to light as much as you can when making a movie. This was just a bored evening project though and I can't really light an entire city.

I've always had an interest in time-lapse photography but I don't have the equipment to do it. That was merely 3-minutes of footage brought to 4.000 speed (the highest in Vegas), rendered, brought back into the timeline, and done again. It does look pretty sweet though.

I quite liked it!

I think you should re-render it with slightly raised levels (just move the middle slider to the left a bit or something)

But yeah, really nicely shot and a nice relaxing little film :)
