Naughty Soldiers is back on!

Post by Ornsack »

Yeah, ya heard me!

After much talking and what not, we've decided to go ahead with Naughty Soldiers! Although we'll be starting from scratch (we were making it as 19 year olds, now we're 23) we plan on making it bigger and better with a bigger budget, better actors, better script and all round a better film!

No release date planned yet (you know what happened last time) but we're gonna rewrite in the coming weeks with an aim to film towards the end of the summer

To drum up some excitement (and maybe introduce the newbies to it) I will post some pictures and trailers from the original film :D and as always will give a progress report

Nifty always wanted to see this. Another way to drum up some interest would be to maybe put up the half finished version that you shot all those years ago so that footage doesn't go totaly to waste.

In the middle of making an extended trailer, as it were, to drum up a bit of interest (I like to think it's a Within the Woods to the Evil Dead ;) )

Don't really want go give away the plot with a whole film though

Without sounding like one of those types who try and sound all professional when talking about money, about £400. Was all spent on costumes, latex and van hire though so it was all on screen (even the van hire)

Luckily we own most of the stuff already so spending the equivilant again (plus if I don't shoot this on HDV I'll cry) should bump up production values a bit more

Nice man! Finally! I can't wait! I was going to say, if I don't see this on HDV, I'm not watching it. LOL. HDV is getting more and more affordable than it was even last year. There should be no excuses Ornsack. Good luck.

Ornsack, I am disappointed I have to wait even longer ... but glad you are going ahead with it rather than just dropping the idea.

If you need anything then let me know. My acting abilities probably aren't of much interest to you but if you need a stunt driver, helicopter pilot, hand guns, briefcase of fake 20s, police badges or use of my garage for any indoor work then let me know.

Ps I made up the helicopter pilot bit. I was rubbish at Gunship 2000!

Ha ha! Sadly a helicopter pilot would be a dream. Thanks for bringing back memories of Gunship 2000 though ;)

As for everything else, much thanks indeed! Will get in touch in due course :)

Damn. I saw this thread appear in "new posts" and thought Naughty Soldiers was back on ... as in 2010 back on not 2007 back on :(

Ha ha!

No I'm afraid when we went to reboot it in 2007 we eventually realised it was to relive the great days of 2003 and we could find very little to take away from it. Plus I find whenever you try to re-do something it never quite has the spark you gave it the first time.

Everything we came up with for the 2007 has or will be recycled though, and all our costumes from 2003 have had more than their fair share of usage!

It's very hard in this day and age to commit to a large scale project for the fun of it (we were jobless students living at home who couldn't get girlfriends to save our lives when we did Naughty Soldiers the first time round, now we're quite the opposite despite being 372% less attractive so you just don't get the time anymore) so we've stuck with sketches for the time being which seems to be getting us more work.

A fun no/low-budget feature is still something we want to do again though and we will the second we get a chance!
