The Zombie Survival Guide

Post by Fewof_lamb »

At the start of 2007, my friends and i finally got up and filmed our first film (not counting a mockumentary we did for school) , after years of failed scripting. We entered it into tropfest (a short film contest in Aus) and had heaps of fun shooting it. We were even happier with the final product considering we wrote, shot and edited it in the week before the closing date of the contest. So anyway, i thought i'd post it up here finally.

The only prob is i'm not sure where i can host it. Any suggestions would be nice. In the mean time, here's the link to it on Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99a2jBIP ... ed&search=

Enjoy.

I thought it was quite good.

It entertained me and I watched the whole thing.

Good job!

thats was very well done

obviously most of it was quoted from 'Shaun of the Dead' but i thought that made it better, was a fan film and i could relate to it

i liked some of the zombie killing effects, edited well to make it appear more gruesome

overall a good effort

by the way how did you do in the fest?

Cheers. Thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming. We didn't get selected for the short-list but we never really expected to be. They only choose 12 films out of all entries (and there are a lot of them) and we were very rushed and amateur compared to the winners. It was fun though.

Besides the "removing the head..." line (Our Shaun of the Dead reference, along with the albums), we came up with all the lines. Well, at least i think it's all original. It was quite late when we wrote it :D .

We are starting our entry for this year at the moment, which gives us half a year so we have higher hopes this time. It's about a mate and his friend who finds a box with a button on it. Everytime he hits the button, something completely random happens (Ideas include a SWAT team tea party, claymation, a spontaneously combustable pizza man and, of course, a Zombie Musical dance break). Should be some Absurd fun.

P.S. Anyone in Australia interested in Tropfest, the info is here. Just click on the Sony Tropfest bit.[/url]
