The Matrix is one of my favourite films. Matrix Reloaded is not good, in that all the action is stupid CGI bullsh*t. It's just not exciting to see a bunch of computer-generated effects leaping about on screen. Now, Revolutions was just plain dull. Dull dull dull dull dull dull dull.

I am a matrix fan, I think the plot of the whole Matrix world and the real world is priceless and an amazing story. I did like the first one for what it was, an introduction to the plot with a little preview of whats to come (lobbyscene, bullet dodging) I agree with noremorse with the comments on Revolution, I was so disappointed when I saw that...and it was very slow moving. However, I really liked Reloaded! We were in the matrix alomst constantly with a little of centental fighting unlike Revolutions which was the whole film. And their was a lot of great fighting and different settings. I thought that chase in the middle was a little extreme but cool non the less. My order would be Reloaded, Original, all the films on this site, then Revolutions. Besides the part where Neo was fighting smith in that building at the end, it sucked...

The first one was good, not original but good. Two and three were... well not even worth mentioning.

How was The Matrix unoriginal, SanElizando?

I've enjoyed both that I've seen so far, The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded, waiting to see Revolutions (and the Animatrix).

Best action was in the first one, in my opinion. Lobby scene > fighting hundreds of Smiths.

And of course everyone likes bullet-time. It's just awesome--in fact, I like it so much that if all goes well there's going to be a use/parody of bullet-time in the comedy I'm working on.

Favorite one- 1st
Least- 2nd

3rd was a good ending to the series. Animatrix was almost better than the 2nd.

The first was an amalgamation of a lot of sci-fi stories (and I didn't say it wasn't good - like the Terminator, not original but good none the less). And bullet time - though a great effect when used right - isn't a first for the Matrix. photographers had been using it for a few years before those films. The Matrix advanced it slightly with the technology available to them. But hey - if everyone liked the same things, then the world would surely be a boring place...

Oh and sorry for the double post but the Matrix script was based on one from the eighties (or was it early nineties?). There is something about it and the following lawsuit somewhere on the net...

The first Matrix was the best. It had a brilliant original storyline, thick, action packed combat scenes, the bullet time effect and people in long leather coats! i mean, come on, what more could you want in a movie?

Hmmm....
Better acting by Keanu Reeves and I think the storyline (or parts of it) were copied, SanElizando's link...[/quote]

you shouldn't be appologizing for triple posting. you can simply edit your posts by clicking edit to the right. that way you do not have to create an entirely new post. use that from now on.

I like the 2nd one just cause of the part where agent smith walks in and says, " Mister Anderson.... did you get my package?"

Okay,
Now I can see why the majority of the films on this site are loaded with computer cr** and contains less of true art. The matrix was a good idea, and interesting take on world philosophies. However, it's presentation was just disgusting and disheartening. CGI should be a tool used to tweak a film for better value in situations where it is necessary. To have an entire series of films revolving around the aspects of CGI isn't a true film. Their is no acting, Keanu is one of the worst actors of our time. He flat out sucks. The film was designed to be "visually stunning" and it was hardly that. The only credibility the movie's had were its writing. That were all the imaginative elements came from. Everything else was a fascade of cr**. Now, I can see why the movies in this forum are the way they are. Loading with effects cr**. People don't ask themselve the fundamental question of 'Why?' Everyone does things because they can and they think that makes a good film. It doesn't. It is okay to do certain things, but you should be asking yourself why? Does it help the story? Is it worth doing? Is there a good reason? It shouldn't be done just to do it. Also, half of the computerized special effects people on this forum use sucks. People barely work on it. These movies have teams of people working on every little aspect of the computerized effect. And you guys spend a week on your work tops. If you want to be a director than be a director. Don't be Special Effects Editor trying to be a director and failing at both. In short the Matrix sucked on the whole, and no one should use these films as something to admire.

I agree that Keanu is terrible and that films shouldn't revolve around the technology used in making them, but on the story and characters. Also, I think the visual effects were pretty good, not mind blowing but decent.

entitled to their own opinion. you can't just say they suck and thats the way it is. only a completely ignorant person would say something like that. i am not trying to offend you, but i am just saying that is seems that you are very close minded when it comes to other opinions and ways of doing things. and if you don't like it here then find someplace else to go.

I disagree, many people here spend more than a week on their films. I have seen gems come from these forums. You say these films suck, because the effects suck. By those rules, star wars nowadays sucks.

The Matrix Revolutions was the worst, really boring fake graphics, and a really dumb plot!
My favorite was reloaded, It had a lot of cools fight scenes and locations(even though the animation was bad.) Then second I liked the first one.

really boring fake graphics
The sentinel's attacking Zion was pretty cool. The plot isn't that bad.
(even though the animation was bad.)
I agree, Neo looks very fake sometimes in the schoolyard.

They were, but the people of Zion's "defense" or their robots or what ever you call them was dumb I thought.

I love matrix, all of them. Everyone i know only like the first one, then they say
"The other ones are boring because it is complicated, and have no action" or something along the lines of that.
But they stupid.
I really love the second one but i also love the other 2....

My order would be:

1. Reloaded
2. The Matrix
3.Revolutions

Either way its one of the most imaginative stories i know, it impresses me every time i watch it

I loved the original. I really didn't like reloaded, and there were only a few parts of revolutions that I liked:
1. when trinity says "I don't have time for this s***"
2. When the machines attack Zion.
3. the neo/smith fight.
