I got the full setup going after christmas. Ok i have the usual, tv,dvd player and vcr. All goes through the VCR to the Tv. and the sound goes from my VCR to my awesome stereo. It's a SONY, so it's good. Its has a subwoofer in each speaker plus one huge one by itself. The sound is about 20x better than the cinema's. Watching war films is like being in a war, (with the surround sound aswell). when bombs explode the whole house shakes. I love it. My mum hates it though. She alway tell me to turn it down coz shes scared the house will fall apart. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? It is totally awesome, sick, heapasick mate, on the mad side, the best thing. What do u think?

The reason is it is better, is because it is in a smaller room so the quality is much better than in the cinema. But then again, it depends on which cinema you got to.

My friend won a free surround system from winning in an online tournament playing Americas Armies. Then his sister stole it from him! :-P

Depends if you have a decent NICAM VCR system or not, but yes, DVD is digital, so there's consistency.

How many speakers, Jass? Is it 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1? Sounds pretty nice.

Try (2) 12" Fusion Encounter series subwoofers in custom made towers. Each tower consists of (1) Fusion 6x9 3 way mid range speakers and (1) Fusion 6 1/2" 2 way speaker. The subs are being powered by a Fusion Encounter series 1000 watt amplifier. I have a Pioneer DEHP5800MP CD receiver. Everything is hooked up to a car battery. Now all I need is to carpet the box lol. Awesome sound and a lot of bass. I already rattled 2 pictures frames off the wall lol. I can post pictures of the setup if anyone wants to see. :D

Its all fun for a while until you loose your hearing. lol. I have a small subwoofer in my room ($50), its really good, i never put it up full boar though, because its in such a small room, but when its in my garage, its not too bad. I wanted to get a better one, but then i thought to myself, why would it need to be any better? It's only 2.1 (cos its supposed to be for a computer, lol) but its fine. I wouldnt mind getting a new one when i some how get money from nowhere. But you know, i dont care, im happy.

OK, Off-Topic, but Radiate, why do you have a Windows symbol for your avatar? ???? Anyway, back on topic, that sounds so wicked! I just got some great headphones for when I make music/movies on my computer (so other people don't blasted out of the house lol) but jesus, people can walk up to my computer, press the volume up key and it's becomes a sorta torute...lol :) Anyway that surround sound sounds awesome, you should record some really high and deep notes then put them on a DVD and lock people in the room with the surround sound and start destroying their eardrums with the noise!

I have two speakers and a subwoofer and I'm happy with it. Why need more than that for a computer?
