i dont give a sh*t if it sucks i know its pretty cra* but its the first script i wrote.
THE VOICE
FADE IN:
INT. OPENING SCENE - DAY
Show Camera looking at a puddle in the driveway filling the
screen for a few seconds, while hearing the crunching of
gravel of someone walking, then the persons legs walk onto
the screen and step through the puddle causing the water to
ripple as he continues. fade in Title "The Voice" fade out
tile.
low camera view of a boy in school uniform and school bag
with a semi-bored looking face, clearly returning home from
school. have a few shots of him repeadedly kicking a stone
along. then suddenly theres a echoing-deep voice out of
no-where...
VOICE
Boys name
boy stops, jerks his head up and looks around confused, then
he sort of shrugs to himself and keeps walking.
VOICE
(Louder)
Boys name again
BOY
(a bit panicky)
who said that that? Who's there?
VOICE
i am not a living being, merely an
imprint in your very soul
BOY
(disbelievingly)
WHAT?
VOICE
I have watched you your whole
life, and there is something you
need to do
BOY
(not wanting to be
told what to do)
what?
VOICE
you must kill him
BOY
Who?
VOICE
your brother
BOY
who- my brother?
VOICE
presisely
BOY
why the hell would i kill my
brother?
VOICE
because there is a prophecy that
one of you two is going to end up
killing the other, and i am here
to give you a head start,so you
can beat him to it
BOY
why should my brother end up
killing me. or vise-versa
VOICE
are you questioning my knowledge?
BOY
maybe, what are you gonna do about
it?
VOICE
oh, i can bring you pain and
misery Far beyond the imagination
of a 13 year old.
BOY
(almost laughing
at the thought)
Sure! whatever, aren't you just
supposed to be an "Imprint in my
very soul"
VOICE
by imprint, i mean "part of". so
really i can quite simply control
your pain
BOY
well then why dont you just "quite
simply" posess me or whatever and
make me kill him yourself
VOICE
oh, because that would not be
fair. i am here to encourage you,
not MAKE you
BOY
gee, whatever happened to "i can
bring you pain misery beyond the
imagination of a 13 year old" huh.
(no answer) HUH.
the voice seems to go away, the boy shakes his head slightly
and then continues walking on into his house.
INT. THE DREAM - DAY
once again shows boy walking home from school but stops
suddenly as he heres muffled cries of help. he looks up and
is astounded to see his brother about 10m in front of him
with his legs, arms and body bound to a chair by rope, and
duct tape across his mouth.
BOY
(in a sickened
voice)
what the-?
He walks towards him, and lifts his hand to take off the
duct tape and realises he has a handgun in his hand, looking
confused he studies it and then he heres a voice...
VOICE
Finnish him now
cuts to a shot of a person who said it
BOY
who are you?
VOICE
i am an imprint in your very soul,
part of it infact. or you probably
know me better as-(with a little
smirk) "the voice in your head"
BOY
how come your a real person now?
VOICE
i am not a real person, i just...
appear as one(as he says this he
walks along and through the chair
and brother like a ghost)
BOY
(with a look of
"wow")
so what are you here for? (he
looks at his brother)Did you do
this?
VOICE
if you mean tie your brother to a
chair then yes, i did
BOY
Why?
VOICE
so you can finnish it, Now
BOY
what-(then he sees the gun in his
hands again and a look of
realisation comes across his face)
oh, No, i told you im not killing
my brother just cos some stupid
prophecy said so
VOICE
remember, you need to keep in mind
that i am giving you a head start,
now Do it
BOY
No
VOICE
DO it
BOY
NO!
VOICE
(a close up of his
lips as he says
it)
I SAID DO IT!
BOY
I SAID NO! (then he shoots the gun
at the voice but the bullets just
pass straight threw him. with a
grunt of frustration he chucks the
gun at the ground)
This infuriates the voice, and he jerks his hands towards
the boy and he cripples to the ground, shaking and twitching
uncontrolably in excruciating pain.
VOICE
SEE WHAT I MEAN ABOUT THE PAIN!?!
A camera view of the boy on the ground, ever so gradually
zooming in, until it flashes white and shows boy suddenly
jerking up in his bed and sweating(it was a dream and hes
just woken up)
INT. THE NEXT DAY - DAY
Boy wakes up, he's sweating and breathing heavily. he runs a
hand through his hair, ponders for a moment and then gets up
out of bed. he then pulls a case or box out from under his
bed and opens it, reaches in and lifts out a handgun,
thinking hard about it, then he tucks it in his trousers
behind his back.
shot of him eating breakfast(cerial), looking distressed.
then a hand comes down on his shoulder and he jumps up in
shock,
BROTHER
Settle down, im your brother, im
not out to kill you
BOY
(Gives a weak smile) what do you
want?
BROTHER
come and check this out on the
playstation
BOY
k(gets up and walks out of the
room to follow his brother)
they walk into the playroom, where they both sit down at the
couch and his brother picks up a playstation controller and
starts explaining whats so cool.
while watching his brother on the playstation the boy starts
thinking, then you hear him remembering stuff the voice said
like "there is a prophecy that one of you is going to end up
killing the other, you need to beat him to it". then you see
some visual flashbacks, of his brother strapped in the
chair, his hand holding the gun, and then of the person of
the voice saying "do it" and him refusing saying"No" "DO IT"
showing the person of the voices lips again. the flashbacks
get faster and faster. then camera shows the brother say...
BROTHER
isn't that awesome a-(cuts off in
mid sentence)
view with the boy holding the gun pointed right next to the
camera, then a wide shot showing the boy and the gun pointed
at the brothers head. a close-up of his finger curled around
the trigger shaking furiously, and then it pulls. the screen
flashes white with a gunshot. shot of boy, looking extremely
regretful, brings hand down and drops gun, slow-mo shot of
the gun hitting the ground. then he runs, camera showing him
skipping meters at a time, he runs outside into the rain,
and keeps running along until he stops, and puts both hands
to the side of his face shaking his head(this in slo-mo too)
he drops his hands and just stands there staring into space
with the rain soaking him wet. fade out.
THE END
