proper screenplay format

Post by gregfromMA »

Can someone please tell me the correct format for a screenplay?
im talking about how to write camera actions, actor actions, and lines and names. can someone write a few lines and camera movements and character actions to show me the proper format for this, or point me to a link that shows a properly formatted screenplay?

thanks,
greg

you can download a FREE plug-in for microsoft word, i use it and it's great...it automatically changes the format of the document to screen play and there are buttons to change the format like from actor names to their dialogue

http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/scriptsmart/

remember it's FREE...nothing to sign up to, no 30 day trial...this is the real deal when i say FREE

hope this was useful

Follow the link and download the Falstaff file. It's a screenwriting template with a video tutorial. Be patient and read the read me.

Might I say that those links posted above for the MWord plug ins are cr**. They don't work and aren't good to use. I use a good working version, of which I have no link for as the download is no longer available. You can go here and I have a tutorial on Professional Script Format.

I wasn't directly saying that it didn't work. I was stating that the format it uses is cr**. But that is just an opinion.

I'm with Nba, Celtx is great, it's just been updated and now works a lot smoother. I'll continue to use it until the day i die OR unless someone gives me a good reason to change to final draft.
