Recording off the sound card

Post by mercenary123 »

I've done it before but I can't remember how I did it.

And also, I realize that I haven't been on lately, I've been doing a bunch of other cr**; modding Madness Interactive, kissing babies, cheating on my wife...normal stuff...

Anyway, I've completely forgetten how to recorder off the sound card...and I really need to.

Thanks much,

Firstly, you need to activate the recorder input. If you are using a microphone, go into Sound Properties, adjust properties for recording and make sure the microphone is selected (And of course working andpluged in the relevant socket). Same applies for other inut sources line-in for VCR audio output, etc.

Next, (This is for WIN XP users), go to the Start Menu, then Accessories, then Entertainment, and select Sound Recorder (If it isn't there, you've moved it or need to install it from your Windows Setup). Simply start your recording source and click Record. It'll record whatever is coming in through that source.

There's other ways of recording, but that's the most basic and straight-forward.
