does anyone know where to get a free converter that is able to converter Windows Media (mpeg) into quicktime?

Windows Medi '.wmv' is not the same as Mpeg '.mpg, .mpeg' which one do you need to convert from.

if u want to spend a bit of cash, Sorenson is really really good (actually im not sure how much it is. . . but it is proper good!)

Many Video Editor Tools can export .MOV. Most of them have released a fullversion on some magazine coverdisks. It may be the easiest way to use one of them.

just do a search for a freeware convertor, there are heaps

I tried this page:

that has a lot of tools listed, but a search for Qtime, quicktime or .mov didn't show any converters TO quicktime, only FROM quicktime to other formats. It may have something to do with Apples license policy.

Also tried this linklist, without success:
