Weirdest Error i've ever gotten.

Post by Truggy »

Ok, so we changed servers, from comcast, to something different, Because i got rid of comcast, got a business internet line (damn fast) thru my grandpa....anyway we changed it, and my redircted (xeropictures.com) keeps wanted to redirect to http://home.comcast.net/~truggy/ ....when its suppost to point to somewhere else. I try and update it, and it will not re-re-direct to the new server.....And i cant get thru to anyone at the domain place, (v3.com) to help, keep getting return to sender s***....anyone know wuts happening? Or how to potentially fix it? Thanks ahead of time

It can take up to 48 hours for DNS changes to filter out to DNS servers on teh 'net. The servers cache previous lookups so they don't have to requery the root and primary servers for address translation. Now that being said, I have personally never seen it take more than 12 hours for a DNS change to take effect, and usually within 4 - 6 hours. Depending on teh cache timeout on a server tho, it could take longer.

Yeah, I have my own home websever and when the power goes out for a long time and I get a new IP address I have to submit it to the domain name site and its usually back up within 1 to 2 days. Don't worry about it.
