Pinnacle Error - Insane With Rage, Desperate For Help

Post by UFProductions »

Alright, not sure if you lot can help me, I know there's not many Pinnacle users here, but it's always worth a shot. The other night I defragmented my hard-drive, nothing unusual, nothing went wrong, everything works. Everything except for Pinnacle 9 that is. Whenever I try to load it I get the followign error message:

"studio.exe Application Error

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application."

I have tried absolutly everyhting, uninstalling and reinstalling, including all the patches, re-defragmenting, disk cleanup, system restore, and the meagre amount of advice posted on the Pinnacle website. This is making me crazy, I've sat at this bloody computer for like 12 hours this weekend just trying to correct this problem. Any advice is great, except "go get Premiere."

Sounds like a windows integrity problem, maybe a missing shared file.

My recommendation to you and everyone else that has windows problems is to buy the Norton System Works suite. It contains a slew of useful programs, including Win Doctor, which automatically repairs windows infrastructure and integrity problems and has saved me more than once.

Thanks for the help, turns out re-instaling the sound card drivers (???) fixed the problem. I will still check out the Norton program though, thanks.
