Different Internet Explorer problem

ok on my other computer. when i click on a movie link on the forum. it opens the movie in windows media player but closes out all my other internet windows. any ideas?

if its a quicktime movie format, i think that you have to right click and save target as, other wise it will close windows if the file doesnt load properly. it happens in fire fox also.

yeah i had firefox for a while, but shortly after i got it my computer crashed. though i am sure that it was not related i am somewhat supersticious. I also found many sites that i use regularly do not work through firefox anyways. it appears that the internet explorer problem was only temporary and is working fine now. it was not because it was quicktime or anything because normally quick time will either open in a new window or change the page and show the movie. it was also doing that for wmv's but is working now.

remember the first time u tried streaming a .wmv? it says "do u want blah blah blah to play in your internet explorer media or no?" when u clicked no it opened the player.....
