True the HVX shoots at 1080i, but it can only resolve about 540 lines. So in a way, its redundant information. The JVC can resolve exactally 720 lines. I'm looking for my source right now, I'll edit this post when I find it, but coincidentally, the HVX is the camera that resolves the lowest resoluti...

Here's an alice pack that looks a lot like the one in that picture, let me know what you think. I'll be getting some E-tools and bandoleers to strap to myself too, and I was thinking of securing some ponchos and towels. Looks like more canteens would help too though. And maybe I can come across a L...

RE: your thoughts

I'd take the HD100 over the HVX anyday. Interchangeable lenses, a higher resolution (HVX can only resolve about 960 by 540, and no where as near as sharp as the JVC at its native 1280 by 720), and no damn P2. I can get an entire hour on one Mini DV tape, rather than like 12 minutes or whatever befor...

Re: RE: Artificial camera shake

yes but your missing the concept... a light shake will still need the movment of handheld or else it will look like the frame has been randomly positioned which is what wiggler essentially does. Look at classic hand held dialogue scenes and notice that there is a swaying motion to hand held to give...

Looking for M60

Yeah, I need a M60 machine gun relatively soon, (like 1-2 weeks) preferably not over $300.

Anyone know where to get it or have one you're willing to sell, let me know.

RE: BILLIONS OF FREE SEARCHABLE SOUND EFFECTS

Yeah when you search findsounds.com, look up the sample rate and make sure its at least 22050 Hz. I also try to find 16 bit.

Check out Ryan W's Lightsaber tutorial. It gives a really good beginning lesson on keyframing, masks, blending modes and effects. And you get to make lightsabers.

RE: Artificial camera shake

I'd do that if I needed the camera shake to be really intense, but if I want a light rumble, then the wiggler is the way. Also somewhere I remember seeing an expression someone wrote to generate the shake too.

Ok I'll check them out.

Right now I'm having trouble securing a camera for the headshots, but I'll keep trying.

Also Delta, that site is amazingly helpful. *bookmarked*

RE: Artificial camera shake

If you have AE pro, then use the wiggler to generate the keyframes. If not, then yeah, thats how to do it.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys, it means a lot. I have been wanting to do a Vietnam film for over a year now, so I have been steadily collecting props for a while. I think I've spent somewhere around $5000, not including the camera we're shooting this on. I've been writing the script for abou...

I actually have dogtags on, but one's under the coat, and the other's on the right boot.

Right now I need 3 more pants, 2 jackets, 2 fanny packs, 1 helmet cover, M60 and ammo belt, 3 pairs of boots, and 5 20 rd vietnam era mags.

Also awaiting my SG35....

-EDIT-
Also 4 bayonets.

They're all great, its impossible to say which is best. Now here are some pro's for each software.

AE - Widely used on the internet, lots of tutorials
Shake - Completely different UI, use nodes; used a lot in the industry
Combustion - Similar to Flint, Autodesk's industry standard.
