Have a look at the power adaptor (Or by where the lead goes into the equipment) and you'll see the power ratings.
You're probably only looking at a couple of amps max. A cheap generator should handle that no problem.

Updating the DVD Writer's firmware can do wonders to it's performance! Find out who the manufacturer is, and get their firmware update utility software. It was the whole cause why mine was burning and coming up with an error just at the last moment. Nero does some authoring, obviously it's basic, an...

RE: HELP! Avis lagging behind in sound!
Erm, nothing to do with loops. The sounds just lags wen you play it. The longer the film, the longer the lag by the end of the film. It starts off ok. So you think if I split the audio and video, I could stretch the audio to re-fit the video on Magix? The thing is that effectively the video is about...

That was random. Perhaps I had something to change or add to it. It was back in October 2003 I posted that after all. Perhaps there was a typing error that corrected. Who on earth knows or really cares? You're not spaming now are you? What does editing my posts have to do with the topic??? I'm keepi...

RE: New comp - Questions
Don't bother with DVD labels, they look tacky. If you want a more professional looking DVD, go for a DVD printer. I have one, from Seiko, it's a CDP-2000, a little outdated now, but if you use the printable media from Seiko, and finish it off with the laquer they also sell, you get a really professi...

HELP! Avis lagging behind in sound!
I get a problem with certain AVIs. They play fine, however after a period of time, the sound comes out of synchronisation with the video. it's probably only up to a second difference by the time the movie has finished, but it's a real pain.
What could be done to fix this problem?

Yep, and that's why I stay well clear of them. It isn't that difficult to hijack someone else's network and use their bandwidth with the right knowledge.

Oooooh, Wireless! I've stayed well clear of that route so far! Check there's no interference from an external source. Check that someone near to you (Like a neighbour) isn't using similar equipment which could be causing interference. Try putting the laptop right near to the router, and see if that ...

Celerons are just cut down versions of Pentium chips. They run at the same clock speeds and bus frequencies, but the main difference is the size of the Level 2 cache. I just got me a P4 3Ghz which came with a 1MB cache, whereas if Ihad got a Celeron, the cache would have been 256K. It has nothing to...

RE: Domain Name Buying?
That's a false economy... At $7.50 a month, you're paying $90 a year. At my most expensive registration ($14.99/1 year) and hosting (3.95/Month), that only comes to $62.39 for the year. That's the equivilent of $5.20 a month compared to your $7.50. Oh what the heck, I'm even going to drop all my dom...

1GB over a month. 1 adn 2 GB lines - Yep! In fact, my local area supports now supports dedicated 4GB lines! Yep, bits, not bytes. I've decided to stick with what I've got. If I upgraded, sure I'd get a faster line, but the existing one seems to do everythign I need OK, and I don't fancy a £1.75/m...

Bandwidth!!!
Does anyone know what their average bandwidth useage is??? At the moment, I have UNLIMITED bandwidth, with a 512K down, 256K up ADSL connection! Seems like a good deal. Only for the same money, I could have a 1GB down, 2GB up connection, but capped at 1GB bandwidth limit, and a £1.75 per GBadditi...

1.3 megapixel camera, edited in Windows Movie Maker, effects were done frame by frame in Bitmap. And it was hard to keep the shots exactly the same, that's a reason why it got so jittery, like when I push the button to take a shot it would move the camera a little bit. That's why on SLR cameras the...

RE: Recording off the sound card
Firstly, you need to activate the recorder input. If you are using a microphone, go into Sound Properties, adjust properties for recording and make sure the microphone is selected (And of course working andpluged in the relevant socket). Same applies for other inut sources line-in for VCR audio outp...

RE: Why do people use photoshop?
Photoshop is not the only graphics editor. I've been using Corel PhotoPAINT for about 10 years now, and still prefer it over Photoshop. I used to be a professional graphics designer for a few years, so I've tried out most of the packages out there. The advantage of the Corel suite is that CorelDRAW ...
