RE: Fastfood commerical suggestions (KFC)
Right, I don't know why this popped into my head (other than it's late and I'm sleep deprived), but I would shoot it very seriously (parody of course). The only example I can come up with to describe this is those commercials you see where the announcer discuses some fact (usually with some sort of ...

Oh Snap! Thats the exact same brand (I'm looking at the 500 Gig) that I'm thinking of getting. I looked at one in the store the other day, looked pretty solid. If I get it soon I'll tell you what I think.

RE: Your film experiences..
I haven't had too many bad experiences filming (movies that is, there are certainly some things we've filmed that involve danger/injury, they just don't count as real films. Alcohol is always involved). However I must reiterate that if you are going to use an airsoft gun as a prop; make goddamn sure...

RE: Barret M82 .50BMG prop gun
Other than balsa wood there isn't really any material that is easy to work with and structuraly sound. Your best bet is to use normal wood (choose a softwood, like pine) and make very careful use of tools. I would suggest cutting the shape out of the wood with a bandsaw if you can gain access to one...

RE: question to music lovers
Thanks to this thread I'm now hooked on 90's club music... again. Meh, I could be listening to worse things. And as Ornsack said, "Children" isn't suited to anything more than clubbing videos. Or perhaps bad toothpaste commercials, those always seem to use the most out of place music.

RE: Re: RE: How Filmmakers On matts can Avoid Common Problem
I completely agree, Epsilon. Watch the masters. While this is completely true it also remided me of something I saw on TV a while ago; one of those annoying little commercial interviews with people in the film industry they show on AMC. The guy (some low level scriptwriter) is asked "how many ...

If I drive down to Utah can I film with you guys? 'Cause it would appear that you represent everything my friends are not when it comes to filming. Can't wait to see the finished project, and keep the vid-blogs coming! EDIT: Nice post count Gyro http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/6884/untitled7mg.png

As usual your machinima is absolutely amazing. From my experience with g-mod I can tell that that was some supurb work, I can't for the life of me figure out how you did most of it. Well done.

Oh man, Cradle of Fear was soooooo bad. Dani Filth should stick to singing. Multiple cuts and an ever increasing supply of blood is definately the way to go though. For very quick cuts you can also start with the hammer on the victim, pull it away quickly and then reverse the footage in post. Use th...

Any possibility of you posting your sound library online somewhere? Because, once again, the sound production was absolutely incredible.

Okay, here's the way I do it. I take a screenshot from the spot I want the muzzle flash/recoil to appear. Open this image in PhotoShop (or any other similar layer based application). Here you add the muzzle flash by whatever means you chose, either a pre-made image file or draw it in yourself (I pre...

RE: SHELBURNE WHAT?! INTRO
Everyone knows that people from the Maritimes don't have livers. They just gave up back in the 1800's and never returned. As for the video: some amusing stuff, but I gotta say that these kinds of videos are a dime a dozen and I don't see too much to make it stand out. You did steal my idea for jumpi...

RE: How many DV Tapes do you have?
Uhh, none... I shoot on Digital 8 (Hi-8 tapes). I've got less than 10 of them, I back up to disc and re-record over stuff. New projects get new tapes, little things I just re-record. I went into a mosh-pit at a friends concert back in the summer with my camera while shooting on a re-used tape, and a...

If you own/play CS they should wind up as mp3's in a download file somewhere in Steam. Every goddamn public server has 'em! If you don't have CS I could probably e-mail them to ya'.

Right, someone will be able to hit you up with some more detailed advice I'm sure, but for the face I say liquid latex all the way and for the arm I suggest you watch the DVD special features for the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead , it contains a very detailed explination of a chainsaw cutting into...

Alright, you should know by now that I like your style, and am usually fairly impressed with the stuff you do. That said, you did ask for some blunt criticizm, so here it is; point form notes of everything I hated! 1. The colour correction is too damn much. Yes, contrast is an easy back-door to a be...
