The Hoban Knight: preview
In order to become more accustomed to After Effects, I decided to make a star wars video. This film was made in order to promote school spirit, furthur my cinematography skills, sharpen my After Effects and 3D animation skills, and to have fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TckFBd-EgUw comments and...

RE: Re: RE: Anybody ever render hour+ dvd on Pinnacle Studio
If you were to use Premiere Elements, you would have to start from scratch, its how software companies work. If products from rival companies were compatible with each other, like editing programs, then you could swithch back and forth. This would lose money for the company, so yeah... The only wasy...

Removing voice from music?
I found a good song that I wanted to use in an upcoming movie for my school. However, parts of the singing have "objectional" content, and I would like to remove the voice completely if possible. I'm working with Premiere Pro 2. Been messing around with the EQ, haven't found any way to do ...

RE: Re: RE: Anybody ever render hour+ dvd on Pinnacle Studio
If I was you, I would look around and see if you can trade in Pinnacle for another program. Some companies will give you a discount for switching. I would go for Premiere Elements or something like that, if you're working with Pinnacle. Pinnacle was the first editing program I bought, version 9. It ...

RE: importing problem for premiere
Is the video exported as a video file or saved as an elements file? Can you take the same files used to create a video im elements, import the files into premiere, and then use elements to make an edit decision list? I did this when transferring a movie i was working on from one computer to another....

RE: Re: RE: Anybody ever render hour+ dvd on Pinnacle Studio
Windows Movie Maker is easy to use, great for quick and basic editing, and is a lot less hard on system resources. More stable, too.

Yeah well first rule of film making if your a REAL film maker is this: Get everything humanly possible done infront of your camera lens. Dont do effects in editing, sorry to dissapoint everyone but they dont look real and often look awful. The only problem with this is: if you do the effect and it ...

colorizing B&W in Photoshop?
A group I belong in at school is doing a documentary on the Battle of Lake Erie during the war of 1812. We've got a lot of old maps in black in white. We have no idea what their original color was, and we want to colorize it. I've checked up on many sites, and all the tutorials on colorizing black a...

If it's just the tree trunk you have to key out, you can probably get away with it in Premiere. If the trunk is curved, you will have some trouble, because you cannot make Premiere's garbage mattes Bezier, or curved. If, however, other parts of the tree besides the trunk need to be taken care of, yo...

Thanks for the helpful criticism. I'll keep all of this in mind when I work on further horror videos. My friend is all into this horror genre, he makes haunted houses and wanted to do this film when we were in 8th grade. So he did the script, and I did the editing. Now that I know what to do, any ho...

Well I have the videos uploaded. The trailer was for parts 1 and 2 together. In all fairness, the trailer was all the good stuff put together. I made these movies 2 years ago, when we had no editing or acting experience, so keep that in mind. Here they are, and again these are the 1st films I made, ...

You are exactly right - we should practice our fight choreography more. But this is just a friendly film, with more emphasis on fun and spontaneity than fighting skill. While this may seperate our film from those with better choreography, we have neither the time nor patience to spend hours practici...

Thanks for the positive remarks. I originally got the idea to do a random lightsaber movie at the beginning of January, after watching an amazing video of a saber fight online. At first, it was just going to be a 10 minute video of a fight, just for the heck of it, but it began to evolve into somthi...

Well if you want to get into CG animation and are a noob, I started out with Bryce. It's the cheapest program out there ($100), and for what it is, its good. This is a great program to use as a beginner to learn the basics of 3D animation, and helps you to slide into more advanced programs like Blen...

Thanks for the links posted here. I've been working on a saber movie personally for my high school's spring arts festival. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2VEskgWEhw Let me tell you, going frame by frame for one lightsaber is enough to make the average person go crazy. But when you add in 3 blades, ...

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I will definitely use your tips in the future. We made this film 2 years ago, when I was just starting to make films. Filming has been finished fora year, so I cannot do anything about the shots or acting, but future movies will include your tips. Thanks again!
