Re: RE: Can high volume destroy a microphone?
You know there's some sort of ammo that is loud like crazy, even when you wear double ear protection, it's giving you a massive hit on your stomache. Magnum ammo, and large rifle ammo. yeah its definately possible to destroy your mics since they all will able to take different amounts of SPL's. But...

RE: Does Anyone else find this?........
Well I guess it would depend on what you have. lol I have Sound Ideas' series 6000 liscenced sound library ( 40 cd's ) so there isnt too much that isn't on there. I've just had to record little s*** like here and there. One thing i don't like is when some one sets up a website and offers free sound ...

RE: DAT Recorder
Yeah, it uses little digital tapes to record onto. Here's a tascam portable / field recorder http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/24/240822.jpg They usually have sample rates like 48khz, 44.1 khz , and 32khz. I personally would just use 48. I heard that they are becoming extinct but n...

that's where I'm at. I have a small condenser mic which needs phantom power. You can use a 9 volt battery but it never seems to get the level up whre it nees to be. So I think i'm forced to use my 8 track digital recorder and my Behringer tube ultragain preamp. So now I have to find some portable so...

RE: Trailer: Unforgiven
looks pretty interesting, I will definately check this out. I agree with the above posts about some shots being dark, but if you dont to spend money on lights, ( like me haha ) then do the best with what you have. towards the end, i think you should either bring the level down on the music OR raise ...

Definately a good job. Can't deny that. But what's with the voices? LOL and some of the speaking parts sound a little ' read ' Good points: pacing muzzle flashes music ( although i know a lot was not original ) editing was pretty good computer screens/ special effects Bad points: some of those speak...

RE: Can anyone help understand Ripple, Rolling, Slip and Sli
Well i'm not sure what slip and slide edits are..., but a ripple edit works like this. Say you want to make a clip shorter in length. You select the ripple edit took and put it over the end of the clip...then you click and drag the clip to the desired length and all the clips behind it follow it rig...

RE: Premiere Pro 1.5 Help
How many processes and other programs do you have open while your working in Premiere? Check to see how many icons are down there by your clock. I have a measly ( well now adays ) 1.8gHz and 512 RAM and my friend says mine is faster than his 3.0gHz with 1GB of RAM. I RARELY have skipping problems pl...

If you want to export to the web you gotta go with Sorenson Squeeze. Try to get your hands ona copy of that. It does it's job WAY better than any presets in premiere or anythng else. Also it's very easy to use. I do pretty much the same thnig as USAmaterFilmaker does as far as archiving blah blah bl...

i have not used Vegas but have heard the same thing from a lot of people. I use PP myself and like it a lot plus is totaly compatatble with other adobe stuff. everything before PRO is a waste of time in my opinion. pro has bettered everything plus added the option to mix in 5.1 surround.

none, takes too long and loss of quality before the MPEG-2 DVD compression are not attractive to me. :?: huh :?: If you know you're final product is going to be DVD then why would you compress it and then compress it again with an MPEG 2? I found that Premiere Pro's MPEG2 for DVD preset works excel...

To Reflexive Cinematics... I was wondering how you did your title. It was friggin' awesome! I only have Premiere Pro, would this be possible? Thanx! Hey what's up - I have Premiere Pro as well but I in fact did it in After Effects. ( 6.0 pro ) Premiere has gotten way better with this pro version, a...

RE: Need help with a shot.
That thing is awesome. Good job on making that! But, what do you mean how to shoot it? Whats happening in the scene? Since it's not moving I'd suppose the shot would be pretty quick... unless the thing is supposed to be a 'stuffed' animal in the movie. I guess it would depend on what your doing and ...
