RE: Member Film Rules?

Good idea, I'll have a think and sort out a sticky. I'll do it as guidelines rather than rules.

That was much better. One thing to adjust ... the initial bright light isn't centred at the same point that the missile disppears behind the building which looks a bit odd.

I would not do this. It is far to dangerous. It would only take seconds for you to seriously maim yourself for life. Even ice cold water will turn to steam in an instant. The water you think is going to keep you cool could easily vapourise, taking your skin with it. The trouble with burning people, ...

rhys, I think you are doing something wrong with your jpg compression.

If I take your picture and resize 120x120 : 0 quality gives 1.29Kb and 100 quality gives 14.2Kb. 70 quality gives 5.6Kb.

That is in Adobe Photoshop.

MillerEternal, when you export using the Adobe Media Exporter enable the deinterlace filter in the pre-processing tasks. This will get rid of the lines. I have found in Premiere Pro that although it lets you save presets for wmv settings it always forgets the pre-processing filter settings! So you h...

RE: What format do camcorders record?

They record in miniDV format. When the data is transferred to a PC this DV data is usually written to disk into a suitable file 'container'. This is usually avi on a PC (or mov on a Mac I think). Avi isn't a format as such. It is a container for whatever format you want to stick inside it. Avi is a ...

Personally I liked the DVD menu clip. It's the sort of menu you would see on the DVD for 'Silent Hill' (see trailer on Apple.com).

Guys, be careful with the personal insults. It's been quite civilised on here for a bit so don't spoil it :)

HMS Daring Launch In Scotland

On Wednesday I got up at 5:30. Flew to Scotland and watched the launching of HMS Daring, the first Type 45 Destroyer destined for the Royal Navy. Here is a 1 minute clip showing the ship launch. The brass band playing "Rule Britannia" was sort of drowned out by the crowd :) http://www.matt...

A Quick Lookup For ISO Paper Sizes

Here is an image showing ISO paper sizes and how they relate to each other in size. I found it useful when I was scaling A4 pages to A0 when I printed film posters on a plotter.
