PAL is 25 fps... I like PAL 'cus the resolution's high, and if you deinterlace your video footage in premiere it looks like it was shot on film :)

Oh I have several... Jumping off moving cars... Jumping out of moving cars... Jumping off cliffs... Having home made explosives go off in my face... Once I had to get 'run over' by a push bike but I tripped and the guy on the bike rode over my neck! Once ran through a wall of flame... In fact I have...

Seeing as though I don't have a DVD drive on my PC, I just plug the DVD player in to my capture equipment! There's probably a tiny little element of quality loss, but nothing horrific or noticable.

Computer editing packages such as Final Cut will overlay that for you automatically... Otherwise you're just gonna have to use your video counter on your VCR :P

I used to use Audio Dub and relied on it heavily, but after a while I started using my Camlink audio mixer (about £100 from Argos back in 1995) although with all this modern technology I think they've stopped making them.

All I can say is not using a computer is a horrible experience :)

I feel sorry for my dad, he's an animator and works frame by frame every day, nightmare!

DivX is a but dodgy though, 'cus not many people have the codec, and nor would they be willing to download it in most cases. WMV is quite a good file format but Mac users will just get a page full of garbled text when clicking on WMV links. MOV's are pretty good and when using the latest versions yo...

Premiere is an editing package, so you can't really do much effect work on it apart from simple chroma-key and a few image filters... There are various other packages that'll do it, 3D Studio can do just about anything once you learn how to use it! The simplest (but a tad time intensive) way of doin...

When my dad used to make films as a kid (like father like son) to do gunshots they got a real rifle and shoved banger fireworks down the barrels, and when they went off it looked really amazing! It sounds dangerous, as if the whole gun would blow up, but if guns were that weak then there's no way in...

Normally black areas will turn to dark green, even on professionally made VCD's.

At the end of the day though, VCD's are only VHS quality, maybe less... So you can't expect an amazing image all the time!

To do the classic "Day to Night" trick, where you film in the day and make it look like night, just darken the image (or better still, if possible use an appature setting that darkens your image) then give everything a blue tint, which is possible in many editing packages. We did loads of ...

Oh I don't care about that! One I gave one of my mates a copy of one of my films, and when I next popped round his dad (who's a policeman) tapped me on the shoulder and said "I counted 33 illegal acts in your movie" and then cackled manically... Hmmm... But still, copyright is really the o...

If you can get a shot of that on your site I'd be most grateful! I'm always on the lookout for how to make cheap explosions. The best ways we've found of doing them so far is fireworks. Stick a rocket in the ground (the big fat ones, not the lil' ones you get in firework multi-packs), rip off the st...

Matt, you stole our amazing dashboard effect technique extravaganza! And it's copyrighted, so you now owe us £1,000,000 for the rights...

Ok ok you win, it's not as if we did it first, and there's jack all any of us can do about other people using the same technique :D

Go to http://members.lycos.co.uk/ornsack - Then go to Films, and look for Zombie for a great blood splat clip created just by using a sandwich bag full of fake blood! It looks just like the one on Exposure but it's easier to do (although I'd love one of those things they made on Exposure to be hones...
