RE: gelatine molds
it depends of the consistency; if you prepare it in a 50/50 mixture, it might work if the object is small and if you cast it in a short amount of times(minutes). however, plaster and ultracal generate heat as they set, so that could melt the gelatin if used for the cast. if you use a material like r...

pdj: thanks! the jitter is, for a beginner using a 30yo tripod in a 3'² spot in the corner of the computer room, almost always present. practice will probably make it mostly disappear, but for the moment I must deal with it. perhaps if i knew of a freeware program that creates motion blur, it may...

Re: RE: Re: RE: Burnt Pentagram In Skin?
eh. Lets not rip on Rhys too much for awhile. Enough is enough. But, as for the pentagram. That rigid collidon sounds intriguing, id like to get my hands on some and see what effects i could design with it. Another possibility is to get some actual fake skin or very thick liquid latex. And after it...

thanks to both of you, and yes, the frame count is poor, 17fps as I said earlier. but now I downloaded monkeyjam, so I'll be able to do 24fps for now on(if my camcorder is compatible, I still haven't checked). You're not the first one who thought of Evil Dead 2, but strangely, even tho I'm a fan of ...

ever heard of rigid collodion? when applied to the skin, it pulls the skin when drying(because it shrinks) in a way that areas with collodion are recessed. if you apply enough coats in a pentagram pattern, you'll have the pentagram recessed into your skin, so if colored pink with touches of red, bro...

messing around with a corpse's hand
here's a few small stop-motion animations I did with a latex&wire hand out of boredom. nothing fancy. also, note that since my animation program doesn't like my camcorder, I had to animate it using windows movie maker; the best I could do with it is 17fps, so the animation is a bit jerky. http:/...

RE: fake weed
real weed is out of question, for the quantity I need, it'll be too expensive. the furry cactus might be a good Idea, If I find one i'll see if it's cost effective. thanks for the idea!(btw, what's the specie of the cactus figured in your post?) if it isn't cost effective, I'll go with DEDFX's idea....

Would it be cost efficient to pay $20 for a DVD at this place when you can get the same one for $10 at the other place? It could be, if the place with the $10 DVD was 2000 miles away but were talking about masks not movies, and u dont need to pay $100 (you could make ur own latex mask?), but why is...

RE: Chainsaw
buy a used chainsaw, you should find one for about 20-30$. and if it works, take of the chain, and you'll be able to start it without risking injuring anyone!

heh, I didn't understand half what you said in it(you spoke a little too fast... see my sig!), but it was simple to guess what was going on! great work as always! btw, I saw that on youtube you had sketches not on your website(transvestite dave, the hand of doom), why don't you put them on guksack? ...

yeah, it's quite expensive, but the quality is incredible; such skeletons, when without the small defects that makes them 4th quality(discoloration, crooked jawbone, small details like that) retails for more than 300$ bucks! so if you're looking for realism, buckies are the way to go. for only one m...

for a full, bucky skeleton (4th quality), the price is about 100$. this is the best quality/price skeleton you can get. for a 4th quality spine and pelvis, it's 40$. and for a limbless but otherwise complete skeleton, it's 75$ bucks. Here, of course, I'm talking about anatomical chart company's buck...
