Oil Wars 2059 - Trailer

This is a trailer a made using stop motion animation. It was shot in my garage with a large amount of sand and a collection of Corgi and Can.DO M1 Abrams tanks. The animated sequences were created with a DV camcorder, AnimatorDV Simple and a laptop with firewire. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8A91m...

I thought they were quite fun.

Where did you get the mushroom cloud explosion?

Use a skateboard or something and you can start doing some 'camera dolly' shots.

I liked the sniper vision. Do a green infra-red version next time :)

Here is the case of money from Hollow Point. http://www.matthawkins.co.uk/media/film_props/prop_money.jpg http://www.matthawkins.co.uk/item-1.html Good old British 20s. I originally used 50s but they just didn't look right. They are also bigger and didn't fit in the case as well as 20s. I made bundl...

Ornsack, I am disappointed I have to wait even longer ... but glad you are going ahead with it rather than just dropping the idea. If you need anything then let me know. My acting abilities probably aren't of much interest to you but if you need a stunt driver, helicopter pilot, hand guns, briefcase...

You can still use a smoke machine but you would have to wait for most of the smoke to disperse. You only need a tiny amount for light rays to show up.

RE: Forum movies

tecmeister, it depends on why you are making films and what your resources are like. Without spending thousands (if not millions) of dollars you aren't going to get anywhere near proffessional standards. That is the reality for most low-budget, amateur film makers. You can make a good film on a low ...

Give this a try :

SUPER © Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer

I use it to create videos for my mobile phone from AVIs. It does audio conversion as well.

And it's free !

If you use your real name it would make it easier for someone to track you down if they wanted to. Not using your real name gives you more protection but you could argue that the risk is not worth worrying about. It depends on what you do online. If you talk to people and play nice then I can't see ...

RE: DVD Selling

When we looked at selling DVDs we hit a number of problems. 1) Very few people will give you money for a DVD because they expect it for free. 2) When you can buy 'Shaun of the Dead' for £4 from HMV brand new, £5 for a 30 min amateur film looks very, very expensive. 3) By the time you actually ...

In the past I have exported from Adobe Premiere as high quality MPEG2 and then converted (using AutoGK) to 320x240 XVID at 8MB/minute.

YouTube suggest 320x240 in their guidelines.

I did a similar thing in Adobe Premiere. Took a single frame, used Paintshop pro to move the slide and then reinserted in back into Premiere.

RE: Torchwood?

I've been watching it. It has slowing been getting better. My favourite episode was 'Countrycide'. The problems I have got with it are : 1) Swearing is shoe-horned in to give it an 'adult' badge but adds nothing to the episode. 2) Forced chemistry between characters where none exists. So forced I th...

Was it filmed in Kent?

I liked the way there are plenty of people in the street. Don't often see members of the public wandering about in amateur films. That makes it stand out from the usual clips we see of people running about with guns. Nice car :-)
