RE: HELP!!! See
Remove the DVD-Rom so you've got just the hard drive and the DVD writer. Power up and go into the bios. Check that the bios identifies both drives. Exit and boot into windows. See if that makes any difference. You could also try launching the device list (right click on My Computer and select proper...

RE: DVD BURNER QUESTIONS, HELP!!!!!!!
That burner is fine. It is dual layer and I assume it can do both DVD-R and DVD+R. To burn DVD Videos you need to author the files in the correct format. The software you use to do this is more important than the burner. The burner only writes what you tell it to write .... so you need the software ...

In fact the bit where Luke and Solo are in the gun turrets of the Falcon is shot-for-shot identical to the WWII films he usedpadawanNick wrote:GL edited shots of aireal footage from WWII films and news reels to show just what the action of each shot should look like.

Disney campaigned for an extension for Mickey Mouse ... even though most of their films are rip offs of other peoples work. Basically your copyright last as long as you've got cash in the bank and a department of lawers.

RE: Re: RE: Wondering about encrypting my own work.
CSS requires some sort of industrial licence so can only be done by a proper duplication house. Encore is a bit cr** really because it makes you think it can do the encryption but all it does is allow you set a few flags to tell the duplication house to do it. It is really no different to giving the...

Unfortunately it is not a free plugin. I'm sure the effect is possible in something like Lightwave or 3D Studio Max. Might be worth looking for a tutorial on the web.

I was also impressed by the Guns (the SIG one), looks pretty real when fired. That was a SIG Sauer P228 BB gun. Although you can barely notice I followed the advice of someone here (can't remember who) and edited a single frame where I cut-n-pasted the recoil in Paintshop Pro. The flash was just go...

I have seen the counterfeiting warnings with some art packages. When I tried to scan some British bank notes I got redirected to some website :) I just switched art packages and used one that didn't have this helpful feature :) When making prop money it really is worth making them imperfect delibera...

I liked it. Yes it is a sick scene that might make a few stomachs turn but then so did 'Saw'. The explosion looked excellent.

Have you been keeping this project secret or am I just really out of touch?? We filmed a lot of stuff overnight so we had the whole of Bristol's city centre to ourselves Did you have a police escort? Doing explosions is brave. Walking the streets of Bristol at night is extra brave! I've lost whole c...

'Grey Market' can also refer to products that are made anywhere but your own country. To us in the UK 'Grey imports' can refer to stuff from the Far East or the USA. Some companies offer world wide warranties. ie it is valid where ever you are. For example if you buy a VW car in Europe but live in t...

RE: What
Region encoding is blatently about price fixing. They claim it is due to language differences and variations in retail costs. So why is the UK in the same 'region' as Turkey, Japan and South Africa?
Region encoding sucks. Luckily all my DVD hardware thinks it sucks as well and tends to ignore it

RE: What
I didn't think you could copy the files straight off a DVD unless you used a program which breaks the CSS encryption?
Or you can use AnyDVD which lets you play any region DVD on your PC regardless of what your hardware or software is locked to.

Actually the tank was battery operated but with no control ... only on/off. Just turned it on and let it go. It was an Airfix construction model which I bought from a boot fair. It was a German Panzer. Quite why a WWII tank is fighting in the 'Oil Wars' of the future is one of the many mysteries of ...

RE: Re: RE: alamdv
I think that given the cost, AlamDV is great for doing certain effects. It can not do anything you can't do in After Effects or other apps but it is unfair to compare them given the enormous difference in cost. I admire the creators of AlamDV for not trying to rip people off with crazy software pric...

We already knew about the other film. No one can stop you using a previously used film name. You can not copyright a film title. If you can only infringe someone elses trademark. As we are not taking advantage of anyone elses work or reputation we are untouchable. There is nothing stopping you makin...
